Wiper blade sizes explained: driver, passenger and rear
Why the two front blades differ, and what to check besides length.
Two lengths
Most vehicles use a longer blade on the driver's side and a shorter one on the passenger side, sized to sweep the windshield without the blades hitting each other or the pillars. SUVs and hatchbacks often add a rear blade.
Length isn't everything
Blades attach with different connectors (J-hook, pin, side lock, bayonet and others). Replacement blades from the major brands come with adapters, but check that your arm type is covered.
Our sources
Where the manufacturer's manual or parts catalog lists blade lengths we use those. Otherwise the lengths come from a wiper maker's fitment lookup and are marked third-party. When a lookup lists more than one length for a position, we leave it blank.
